Therapy for Healthcare Workers & Professionals

Healthcare professionals spend their careers caring for others through some of life's most difficult moments. A career in healthcare can be incredibly meaningful, and it can also feel really demanding. Long hours, high-pressure situations, changing schedules, challenging workplace dynamics, and the responsibility of caring for others can take a toll over time.

Even when you enjoy your work, you may find yourself feeling more stressed, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or disconnected than you would like. For some professionals, repeated exposure to illness, trauma, or difficult patient experiences can also contribute to secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue, or burnout.

I am passionate about working with healthcare professionals and creating a space where you can focus on yourself, outside of your role as a professional.

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion

  • Secondary traumatic stress and vicarious trauma

  • Compassion fatigue

  • Anxiety, chronic stress, and feeling constantly “on”

  • Difficult or emotionally challenging patient experiences

  • Grief and cumulative exposure to loss

  • Workplace stress and challenging work dynamics

  • Difficult relationships with colleagues, supervisors, or leadership

  • Communication and boundary challenges at work

  • Perfectionism and high personal expectations

  • Difficulty creating separation between work and personal life

  • Feeling less connected to yourself, your relationships, or the parts of your life outside of work

  • Trauma and past experiences that may be triggered in your work environment

Therapy can be a space to step back from the demands of work, gain perspective, and make intentional changes that support your well-being.

Making Space for You Outside of Your Professional Role

When you work in a helping profession, it can be easy to spend most of your energy thinking about other people. Therapy offers an opportunity to step out of that role for a while.

Together, we can explore the stressors affecting you, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop strategies for managing anxiety, stress, relationships, boundaries, and the demands of your work.

My specialties in complex trauma, PTSD, and anxiety allow me to work with both the day-to-day challenges of healthcare work and the deeper experiences that may be contributing to them.

Depending on your goals, therapy may incorporate EMDR, Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy, and tools-based strategies.

For professionals experiencing secondary trauma or the cumulative effects of difficult work experiences, we can also explore how those experiences are affecting you and determine whether trauma-focused work may be helpful.

Support for the Person Behind the Professional

You don't have to choose between being committed to your work and taking care of yourself.

Whether you're feeling burnt out, navigating a difficult work environment, processing experiences from your job, or simply looking for a place to work through the stress that comes with a demanding profession, therapy can provide dedicated space to focus on you.

I also offer flexible scheduling to accommodate the realities of healthcare work. If your schedule changes from week to week, you do not need to reserve the same weekly appointment time. We can find appointments that work with your schedule each week.

Therapy can help you process challenging work experiences, navigate burnout and stress, and develop a stronger connection with yourself, your values, and the life you want outside of work.
